Three years after the release of my experimental film Warm Up, I decided to make a sequel. Over Your Skin, playable below, is the result of hypnotising myself, not with meditation and drum beats, but with hue, dynamism and texture.
I was fascinated by views of paint flowing down over skin. Under a macro lens, the runny pigments look like satellite images, in which every crease of flesh mimics dry, wrinkly riverbeds getting replenished with bright waters.
Working continually for four months, I poured metallic and fluorescent paint across hands, lips and nipples, hoping to create mesmerising new universes in the most personal and familiar of territories.
